Divorce, Family Law and Family Mediation

We help both women and men in divorce, spousal and child support, custody and visitation. We can serve as your attorney, or as a mediator to help you settling your case and saving money. With years of experience, we capably handle even the most complex cases, including those where business or professional practices, or interstate custody issues are involved. If debts or creditor harassment are part of your divorce issues, we have special expertise in helping you or your attorneys solve those problems as well. We negotiate and prepare premarital agreements, cohabitation agreements, and property settlement agreements. We handle guardianships, name changes and step-parent adoptions. Joanne Ventura is a certified and trained family law mediator. She heads our family law practice. She has practiced extensively in the field throughout New Jersey's southern counties. Consistent with our firm's philosophy, we try to provide prompt, sensitive and experienced representation while providing you, the client, with the information you need to make informed decisions affecting the outcome of your case. We are prepared for, and prepare our clients for litigation, if that is what is needed. We recognize that Family Law, more than any other legal area, requires a no-nonsense straight-forward approach and clear advice. In our office, the client and the attorney become a team. Together, they work out the goals, then work together to best achieve those goals and the best possible result with the least financial and emotional cost.

Mediation may be a worthwhile alternative for many. Mediation is a process by which, with the help of a skilled mediator, the parties are able to reach a common understanding of each others' concerns and reach a voluntary settlement. A skilled mediator can often help the parties break through the problems that prevent them from reaching a fair and mutually beneficial settlement. Of course, we cannot provide mediation services to our clients, since the mediator must be a disinterested third party. Because of our bankruptcy expertise, we can provide special help for clients with financial problems, or spouses in bankruptcy or contemplating it.
